Is Massage Therapy painful?

Some techniques in massage may cause discomfort, but will always be done within comfort level of the client.  It is important to let your Therapist know of any discomforts that you may feel during the treatment.  These pains are generally caused by some kind of dysfunction or previous injury.

It is also normal to have some discomfort for 1-3 days after a deep tissue treatment.

Ice after a deep tissue treatment can also aid in reducing any inflammation and discomfort.  Each situation is different and may require slightly different instructions, so please ask your therapist on a proper procedure for the use of ice.
